Empowering Veteran-Owned Businesses: NVBDC Services Committee Launches Innovative Monthly Webinars

The National Veteran Business Development Council (NVBDC) is the leading certification organization for veteran-owned businesses. NVBDC is committed to connecting veteran entrepreneurs with corporate America, ensuring that veteran-owned businesses have the tools and opportunities needed to succeed in today’s marketplace.

NVBDC is proud to announce another successful year of innovative monthly webinars.  These webinars are designed to foster collaboration between veteran business owners and supplier diversity professionals, providing crucial resources for growth and development. Led by John Taylor, the Services Committee aims to continue supporting veteran-owned businesses by providing educational resources to SD/VOBs and the ability for them to access, engage and interact with NVBDC Corporate Members through these informative series. Prior to joining NVBDC, John Taylor served as the Global Senior Manager of Supplier Diversity Development for Delphi Corporation. Under his direction, the NVBDC Services Committee is excited to continue to implement two distinct types of monthly webinars:

Jumpstart Webinars

Jumpstart Webinars are designed to connect veteran business owners directly with supplier diversity professionals from member corporations. Over the past few months, these webinars have featured professionals from Flagstar Bank and Freddie Mac, and upcoming webinars will include representatives from Delta Airlines and US Cellular.

Service Learning Forums

Service Learning Forums focus on educating veteran business owners about the benefits of certification and the intricacies of supplier diversity. Topics include understanding the certification process, the advantages it brings, and strategies for effectively navigating the supplier diversity landscape.

Both types of webinars are meticulously designed to address the unique challenges and opportunities faced by veteran entrepreneurs. The webinars also function as a networking hub, fostering meaningful connections between veteran business owners and supplier diversity professionals from various industries.

These interactions are invaluable, often leading to new business opportunities, partnerships, and mentorship relationships.
