Marine Corps 250

The Corps approaches 250th Anniversary

HQMC will begin the 250th celebration on Super Bowl Sunday and continue through the year. An effort to commemorate the 250th Birthday of the United
States Marine Corps. The effort will be led by Headquarters Marine Corps and executed by an assigned Task Force. The endeavor will involve partnerships with the DoD, Navy, and service-related civilian affiliates, as appropriate, to collectively honor the past 250 years and bring inspiration to the next 250. Marine Corps 250 effort began in 2023 and culminates in 2025.

The Engagement Plan will be accomplished through the following lines of effort and activities:

1. SUPPORT AND BRANDING TO EXISTING/RECURRING EVENTS

a) 250 Branding to existing events – Open Houses and Airshows, Evening and Sunset Parades, Ceremonies
b) Local support to community relations events – Total Force
c) Ceremonies hosted by Associations and NFEs
d) Speaking engagements by key leaders

2. GENERATE MARINE CORPS OUTREACH EVENTS

a) “Marine Corps 250” Campaign
b) Force-wide Commemoration
c) Mini Marine Weeks (hub cities)

3. EDUCATE AND MESSAGE

a) Official webpage
b) Digital Engagement (#Marines250)
c) Inclusion of talking points in speeches and events
d) Commemorative message

The following Six cities have been selected to host "Marine Mini-Weeks":

1. MARCH - Austin
2. APRIL - Los Angeles
3. JUNE - Nashville
4. JULY - Chicago
5. AUGUST - Boston
6. SEPTEMBER - Atlanta

In addition there will be additional events planned around major sporting events across the country. Review the MCRA "Upcoming Events" for a complete listing. The list will be current by end of week. As information becomes available we will push out. This will be an exciting year for our Corps.
